15 reps: high-compressed position (gun indexed at the ribs), then step BACK while extending to full presentation. Make distance.
3 yd: 10 rds from compressed-ready, 2-rd strings, inner box. 5 yd: 10 rds extending compressed-to-full. No holster speed work this close unless range and training allow.
Retention position with the gun side bladed away.
At carry distances this IS your fight range. Deliberate and clean.
Indoors the carbine compresses too: stock over shoulder, muzzle short of the frame. Dry only unless your range truly allows.
AUX (when ready): compressed 2-rd pair inside the inner box in under 1.5s.
Your eyes can move twice as fast as your muzzle. Let them.
Close means fast, but fast means hit. A miss at 3 yards is a special failure.
At this distance the read happens in tenths. Eyes at full speed even when the gun is slow.
Close-quarters is where protecting someone gets physical. Train the footwork that puts you between.
You can't out-plan 3 yards. Compressed, hit, move. Keep it that simple.
Dry-fire: no ammunition in the room. Verify the firearm is clear — twice. Use a safe backstop. When you finish, say it out loud: “Dry fire is over.”
Non-negotiable. Every drill, every rep, every time. This applies to live fire and dry fire.
