Two Speeds, One Drill

Two Speeds, One Drill

Dry-Fire · At Home

15 reps: two fast presses low card, one deliberate slow press high card. Feel the gear-shift between speeds.

Live-Fire · At the Range

8 strings at 7 yd: 2 rds card B, assess, 1 rd card A, slow. The third shot is a DIFFERENT shot — precision after speed.

Service Pistol

The classic duty standard. Run it from the holster if permitted.

Concealed Carry

Your carry trigger will tell on you on shot three. Listen.

Carbine

2 rds at 25, transition to the small card up close — know your optic's offset.

Optional Standard

AUX (when ready): full sequence under 4.0s with all three hits.

Mind

Notice door hinges: doors open toward the hinges' side. Tiny knowledge, real speed.

Your Daily Callout — By Archetype

The Initiator Yours

The first two shots are yours. The third belongs to the front sight.

The Scout Yours

The “assess” between shots 2 and 3 is the entire drill. Actually look.

The Guardian Yours

The whole sequence exists to protect everyone behind the problem. Train all of it.

The Strategist Yours

Two cadences, zero blending. Keep the gears clean.

Coach's Note

Layer: start from the ready, add a step.

Standards & Safety
The Four Rules — Every Rep, No Exceptions
  1. Treat every firearm as if it is loaded — always, no matter what you think you know.
  2. Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
  3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target and you have decided to fire.
  4. Be sure of your target — and everything beyond it.

Dry-fire: no ammunition in the room. Verify the firearm is clear — twice. Use a safe backstop. When you finish, say it out loud: “Dry fire is over.”
