Slow Fire on Small Targets

Slow Fire on Small Targets

Dry-Fire · At Home

Verified clear. Twenty slow presses at a single dot. The sight or dot should stay inside the circle through the entire press and reset. If it moves off, that rep does not count.

Live-Fire · At the Range

Twenty-five rounds at 5 yards, five rounds per dot. Every hit has to break the dot. Take as long as each shot needs; there is no clock today.

Service Pistol

You have the longest sight radius of the three platforms. Hold yourself to the tightest standard because of it.

Concealed Carry

A shorter slide punishes a soft front sight focus. Stay on the sight until the shot breaks.

Carbine

Move back to 25 or 50 yards if your range allows and shoot the same dots from a supported position.

Optional Standard

AUX (when ready): all twenty-five rounds inside their dots with no makeup shots.

Mind

Accuracy is a decision you make before the trigger moves, not a thing you hope for after.

Your Daily Callout — By Archetype

The Initiator Yours

There is no timer today, only the standard. Slow down and let the hits be clean.

The Scout Yours

Pick the exact spot you want before you start the press, then hold that decision through the shot.

The Guardian Yours

Careful reps in a quiet garage are what hold together on a bad day.

The Strategist Yours

Same grip, same index, same press every rep. This is the kind of day you are built for.

Coach's Note

Layer: shoot two of the dots support-hand only.

Standards & Safety
The Four Rules — Every Rep, No Exceptions
  1. Treat every firearm as if it is loaded — always, no matter what you think you know.
  2. Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
  3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target and you have decided to fire.
  4. Be sure of your target — and everything beyond it.

Dry-fire: no ammunition in the room. Verify the firearm is clear — twice. Use a safe backstop. When you finish, say it out loud: “Dry fire is over.”
